Sky once had all the rights for Premier League football – but an EU ruling meant that other broadcasters were also allowed to show some. So this coming season, Sky gets 116 and BT shows 38. For the 2016/17 season, new football kits Sky will have 126 and BT 42. Between them the two giants paid more than £6 billion for Premier League and European football rights.
